Yesterday I taught a workshop. It was glorious! I'm not sure if 'taught' or 'led' is the correct word (that would lead to another discussion), but it centered around my snowflake method. The breadth of skill in the room was very wide and yet all seemed to really enjoy the process. The best part for me was that in spite of the perceived complexity of what we were doing, it turned out not to be so(which I already knew) and that delighted everyone. They were able to mostly complete their project in 4 1/2 hours. If we had lengthened the time a little they would have finished, but that would have bit into the time we allotted for our pot luck lunch...which leads to another subject...food & women. There is nothing quite like a 'bring a lunch' to share request for a workshop. The most delicious simple dishes show up with more than ample proportions and when you sit down together it is a marvelous time to share stories with each other that you don't do during class. Getting together over food is a really nice way to relax and gather more incentive for the afternoon session. All in all, it was a smashing success and I will do more workshops in the future.
