Niña's TOOL BAG-
This is a small bag that will enable you to carry all your most important tools in one carrying case that easily travels from your own sewing room to a class anywhere you want to go.
The skills learned include beginning machine quilting (on a small scale), basic sewing, inserting a zipper, french seams.
October 10,17,24
ALL TIED UP-
We will make a small crazy quilt wall hanging out of deconstructed ties. Stay tuned.
Skills involve learning more about your machines capacities, working with silk, playing a with embellishments.
November 7, 14, 21
SNOWFLAKE TABLE RUNNER
This is a technique I created back in 2003 when I made the quilt Winter Memories. We will use recycled wool fabrics and wool felt to created gorgeous snowflakes on a wintery background.
You will learn the difference between felted wool and wool felt, handling different weights of wool, how to deal with bulky seams, sewing blind, and bobbin drawing (not as mysterious as it sounds).
December 5
BINDINGS,BINDINGS,BINDINGS
We are going to explore different ways to bind your quilts. From simple, straight, traditional bindings for a bed size quilt to using Sue Pellands' Leaves Galore rulers to create unusual border/binding treatments for art quilts and wall hangings.
December 12
RULER CASE
Keep your rulers organized and easy to carry!! This is a simple ruler case developed by myself to contain the rulers that you need for classes. Using the small portable ironing board developed by Barnyard Quilting as our base, we will create a case that straps to this ironing board making it thoroughly portable.
