 This is called a Wholecloth quilt. A single piece of fabric is used for the front and back. The back is red violet cotton sateen quilted with red silk thread and the front is a lavender quilters cotton quilted with purple silk thread. Some of the heart elements are trapuntoed. I quilted this in the 50th year of my life which was my most difficult. The rhythm of working on this a little every morning at dawn kept me grounded through the chaos surrounding me. The pattern is my own design using rulers and paper cutouts. It is sewn completely on my old Pfaff and took me two years to complete. It has never been shown as when I was finished I realized it was out of square! Oh, the lessons we learn....
